Meal Coupons

Meal requests that reach the kitchen by themselves

Departments raise meal requests, the coupon desk accepts them, one QR coupon is issued per request and scanned at the serving counter — and the counts flow straight into the kitchen's meal count.

What you get

Meal Coupons, done properly

Requests by department

Each department asks for the meals it needs, within the categories it is allowed.

Payment and cutoffs

Record cash, online or internal transfer payment; unpaid requests close automatically at the cutoff.

QR coupons at the counter

Scan once per meal; a coupon can never be used more times than it allows.

Straight into meal count

Accepted requests update the day's meal count, so the kitchen cooks for exactly who is coming.

In practice

A day in the kitchen

  1. 1

The guest house requests 120 lunches for a retreat.

  2. 2

The coupon desk accepts and records payment; a QR coupon is issued.

  3. 3

The serving counter scans it, and the kitchen had already cooked for 120.

Questions

About meal coupons

Can the scanning counter accept requests?

No. The counter role can only scan and redeem coupons, so the person checking a coupon cannot also issue one.
