What you get

Inventory & Godowns, done properly

Goods receipts with inspection

Record what arrived and what was refused, attach the supplier's bill, and only accepted quantities enter stock.

Issues, returns and transfers

Issue to kitchens against their requests, accept returns, and move stock between godowns with both sides recorded.

Batches and expiry

Track batches with expiry dates so the oldest stock leaves first and you see what is about to expire.

Stock counts and wastage

Count stock, review variances and record wastage with reasons — with approval when the value is significant.

Correct valuation

Weighted-average costing, GST handled the way your organisation is registered, and a ledger nobody can quietly edit.

Reports and alerts

Stock summaries, movement ledgers, below-minimum alerts and Excel exports that a person can actually read.

In practice

A day in the kitchen

  1. 1

A rice delivery arrives; 3 bags are damaged and refused at the gate.

  2. 2

The storekeeper confirms the receipt; stock and its value update instantly.

  3. 3

The kitchen's morning request is issued, and the kitchen acknowledges what it received.

Questions

About inventory & godowns

Can we run more than one godown or kitchen?

Yes. Set up main godowns, sub-godowns and kitchen stores; each holds its own stock and each kitchen draws from the stores that serve it.

Can stock go negative?

Only if your organisation allows it. By default a movement past zero is blocked, and an authorised person can override with the reason recorded.
